Russian-Azeri cooperation in sphere of security in Caspian Sea to be strengthened - Shoigu

MOSCOW. Nov 30 (Interfax) - Russia and Azerbaijan will broaden cooperation to ensure the security of the Caspian Sea, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said during a meeting with Azeri Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov on Wednesday.

"We are working on the assumption that Azerbaijan is now the outpost of security in the Caspian Sea. And we need to work even more effectively here," Shoigu said.

The countries "have come very close to that," he said. "I am confident that all these things will have a considerable influence on stability in this region," the minister said.
