Putin instructs govt to increase share of civilian, dual-use goods manufactured by defense industry to 50% by 2030

MOSCOW. Dec 6 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has instructed the government to take measures to increase the share of high technology civilian and dual-use products manufactured by defense industry enterprises to 50% by 2030.

"Taking into account the directives issued earlier, ensure that the share of civilian and dual-use high-technology products among all products manufactured by defense industry enterprises is increased to at least 17% by 2020, to at least 30% by 2025, and to at least 50% by 2030," according to the presidential directives based on the annual address to the Federal Assembly delivered on December 1, 2016, which are available on the Kremlin website.

The government is supposed to present a report on measures taken to meet the directives by June 1, 2017 and then once every half a year.
