Lavrov invites UK Foreign Secretary Johnson to Moscow - Russian Foreign Ministry
MOSCOW. Dec 7 (Interfax) - Russia expects British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson to visit Moscow.
"The British foreign secretary has an invitation from our foreign minister to visit Moscow," Russian First Deputy Foreign Minister Vladimir Titov told journalists on Wednesday.
London has given a positive answer to this invitation, but the dates of the visit depend on mutual understanding between the two countries on a number of issues, he said.
In particular, Russia and the UK have significant differences on the developments in Syria, but, on the other hand, "there is a need for dialogue," Titov said.
"I do not rule out that I could visit London in the second half of January to meet with my counterpart. We will address a broad range of issues, including the situation in Syria," he said.
