Supplies of Russian wheat to Venezuela could total up to 60,000 tonnes per month - Rosselkhoznadzor
MOSCOW. Dec 7 (Interfax) - Supplies of Russian wheat to Venezuela could total up to 60,000 tonnes per month.
As the Agriculture Ministry's press office told Interfax citing Russia's Federal Veterinary and Phyto-Sanitary Oversight Service (Rosselkhoznadzor), Russia expects to supply, at a minimum, half of the volume that Venezuela currently imports. Venezuela purchases around 120,000 tonnes of wheat every month.
However, specific figures were not discussed during talks with Venezuelan colleagues that took place the last few days.
"At the moment, Russian export companies are carrying out active negotiations with the Venezuelan corporation for external trade Corpovex to determine specific volumes of future Russian wheat supplies to the Venezuelan market," the Agriculture Ministry said.
