Russia increases wheat exports 23.6% to 19.9 mln tonnes in Jan-Oct - customs

MOSCOW. Dec 8 (Interfax) - Russia exported 19.917 million tonnes of wheat and wheat-and-rye mix worth $3.3 billion in January-October 2016, the Federal Customs Service (FCS) said.

This was 23.6% more than the 16.1 million tonnes Russia exported for $3 billion in the same period of 2015.

Russian wheat exports outside the CIS totaled 18.844 million tonnes worth $3.1 billion to non-CIS countries, compared with 14.9 million tonnes worth $2.8 billion in the same period last year.

Russia imported 517,800 tonnes of wheat worth $79 million in the 10 months, up from 176,700 tonnes worth $41.5 million in 10M 2015.

Barley imports rose to 123,300 tonnes ($14.8 million) from 34,500 tonnes ($4.9 million), while corn imports were flat at 30,600 tonnes ($101.3 million) compared with 30,200 tonnes ($98.8 million).

Russia imported grain totaling $272 million in 10M 2016, up from $230.8 million a year earlier.
