OSCE SMM principal deputy chief monitor to leave for Donbas on Monday to assess security levels
DONETSK. Dec 9 (Interfax) - OSCE Special Monitoring Mission Principal Deputy Chief Monitor Alexander Hug will visit Donbas in the period from December 12 till 16 and is expecting to see the disengagement areas, a mission spokesperson said.
"Alexander Hug will visit eastern Ukraine to assess security levels and to urge the interested sides to promote peace and normalization of the Ukraine situation," she told the press.
According to the spokesperson, Hug will visit the Donetsk and Luhansk regions and will meet with SMM teams, representatives of the Joint Center for Control and Coordination (JCCC) and other interlocutors.
"He has asked for a meeting with representatives of armed formations in Donetsk and Luhansk to discuss restricted movement of the OSCE SMM and other hindrances to the fulfillment of the Mission's mandate, in addition to security levels in the region and the implementation of the Minsk agreements," the spokesperson said.
Hug and SMM monitors will visit three disengagement areas near Zolote, Stanytsia Luhanska and Petrovske, as well as other parts of the contact line, she said.
