No Russian casualties in terror attack in Egypt - Russian Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. Dec 12 (Interfax) - There were no Russian casualties in the Cairo terror attack on Sunday, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

"The terror attack perpetrated at the al-Butrosia Coptic church on Sunday, December 11, killed 23 people and injured 49. To our knowledge, there are no Russian casualties," the ministry said in a report posted on its website.

"Moscow reiterates its principled stance of total rejection and condemnation of any terror attacks, irrespective of the motivation of their inspirers and perpetrators. We are declaring our solidarity with the authorities and the people of Egypt in their uncompromising struggle against terrorism and extremism. We firmly support stabilization efforts in that country. We are offering our sincere condolences to the families of the dead and wish the soonest recovery to the injured," the ministry said.

The bomb was remotely controlled. The explosion occurred during a church service.
