Ukrainian Defense Ministry reports 8 fatalities in 5 days of Svitlodarsk bulge battle
KYIV. Dec 23 (Interfax) - Eight Ukrainian servicemen have been killed in hostilities in the Svitlodarsk bulge in the Donetsk region since December 18, Ukrainian Defense Ministry spokesman Andriy Lysenko said.
"Eight of our servicemen have been killed in that sector of the frontline since December 18," he told a press briefing in Kyiv on Friday.
One Ukrainian soldier was taken prisoner in the reported period, he said. "One soldier of ours was wounded and captured on December 18. We have no other new POWs. The information comes from the commanders of units defending that sector of the frontline," Lysenko said.
