Georgian foreign minister, Trump's adviser discuss issues relating to further cooperation
TBILISI. Dec 29 (Interfax) - Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze told reporters on Thursday he had talked with the security adviser to U.S. President-Elect Donald Trump in person.
"During the conversation, the sides confirmed their readiness to continue strategic interstate cooperation. We will definitely continue dialogue at the earliest opportunity," the minister said.
The U.S. and Georgia signed the Charter on Strategic Partnership in January 2009. Meetings of working groups on cooperation in the economic, humanitarian and cultural spheres, and also on issues relating to Georgia's security and defense are held regularly under this Charter.
