U.S. sanctions against Moscow over cyber attacks counter-productive, will complication restoration of bilateral relations - Russian Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. Dec 30 (Interfax) - The latest sanctions imposed by the United States on Russia over Moscow's allegedly involved in cyber attacks are counter-productive and are aimed at causing damage to the future process of restoring bilateral relations, among other issues, Russian Foreign Ministry Commissioner for Human Rights, Democracy and the Rule of Law Konstantin Dolgov told Interfax.

"Any anti-Russian sanctions have no prospects and are counter-productive," he said.

"I can only confirm once again that this sanctions hysteria is demonstrating the total absence of the outgoing U.S. administration's orientation in space," the diplomat said.

"Such unilateral steps are aimed at causing damage to relations and complicating their restoration in the future," he said.
