Gazprom supplies record-breaking 160.75 mcm of gas via Nord Stream on Jan 1

MOSCOW. Jan 2 (Interfax) - Gazprom supplied a record-breaking daily amount of natural gas, 160.75 million cubic meters, via the Nord Stream gas pipeline on January 1, 2017, which, an annualized basis, is above the gas pipeline's design capacity, Gazprom information department reported.

"The current utilization rate at Nord Stream clearly demonstrates that the north corridor of Russian gas supplies is enormously much-needed in the European market. And it once again proves the importance and relevance of construction of Nord Stream II. It is customers who vote in favor of this route," the Gazprom press service quotes Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller as saying.
