Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Bogdanov, Syrian ambassador discuss preparations for intra-Syrian talks in Astana, Geneva
MOSCOW. Jan 12 (Interfax) - The Russian president's special representative for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and Syrian Ambassador to Russia Riyad Haddad have discussed preparations for an intra-Syrian meeting in Astana slated for January 23 and the resumption of intra-Syrian talks in Geneva.
"At the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the situation in Syria with an emphasis on the range of issues of political settlement of this country's crisis. A particular focus was on preparations for the Astana meeting and resumption of the inclusive intra-Syrian talks in Geneva in accordance with the UN Security Council Resolution 2254," the Russian Foreign Ministry said on its website.
