MINSK. Jan 17 (Interfax) - The Belarusian Health Ministry has recorded 47 hypothermia deaths this winter, including 22 in January 2017.
"Since the beginning of this year, the ministry has recorded 22 hypothermia deaths. It has been 47 people since December 9 when we started keeping record," Yelena Savko, leading specialist of the first aid division of the Health Ministry's main medical aid organization department, told a press conference in Minsk on Tuesday.
"That's a lot," she said.
According to Savko, half of the victims had been drinking alcohol.
