Mutko predicts final acceptance by FIFA of new football stadium in St. Petersburg in a month

GORKI. Jan 23 (Interfax) - The Krestovsky stadium in St. Petersburg will be handed over to a FIFA commission in late February, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Mutko said.

"Everything is ready. We are handing it over to FIFA at the end of February," Mutko said at a meeting between Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and his deputies on Monday.

Zenit football club will play two matches at the stadium in April, he also said.

As for the stadiums in Kazan and Sochi, which will also host Federations Cup matches, the one in Tatarstan's capital is already hosting Russian Championship matches and having its arena adapted for international competitions, Mutko said. As for the Sochi stadium, it will be ready in February, the deputy prime minister said.
