Russian diplomat speaks of positive attitude in contacts with Trump's officials

MOSCOW. Feb 2 (Interfax) - Moscow notes the presence of a positive and businesslike attitude in contacts with representatives of the team of U.S. President Donald Trump, the director of the Russian Foreign Ministry's North America department, Georgy Borisenko, said.

"As was noted, a telephone conversation between the leaders of the Russian Federation and the U.S. was held on January 28. It continued for 45 minutes, turned out to be very content-rich, as well as was constructive and [took place] in a warm atmosphere. The attitude for joint work in a businesslike manner, without phobias and for the benefit of mutual interests, was noted on the American part," Borisenko said at the Russian Federation Council's roundtable addressing Russia-U.S. relations under the new U.S. administration.

"Such an attitude has been noted in contacts with Trump's officials," the diplomat said.

"We almost became unaccustomed to it during the final years of Barack Obama's presidency," he said.
