N. Korea's missile launch demonstrates defiant disregard for UNSC resolutions - Russian Foreign Ministry
MOSCOW. Feb 13 (Interfax) - North Korea's latest missile launch is a regrettable fact and a source of concern, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Monday.
"We see the missile launch conducted by North Korea on February 12 as another demonstration of defiant disregard for the UN Security Council's relevant resolutions. We cannot help but regret and be concerned about it," the ministry's information and press department said in a commentary.
"Given the circumstances, we are urging all parties concerned to maintain composure and abstain from actions that may further escalate tensions," the commentary said.
"We believe there is no alternative to the settling of problems of the Korean Peninsula, including the nuclear one, with exclusively political and diplomatic tools. The shift from confrontation to efforts towards a general improvement of the military and political situation in Northeast Asia is the way to peace and stability in the region," the commentary said.
