FAS could open case against Lenovo and HP for price fixing in March

MOSCOW. Feb 21 (Interfax) - The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) will make a decision in March about opening a case against Lenovo and HP for price fixing, Andrei Tenishev, head of the FAS division for the campaign against cartels told Interfax.

"We will make a decision on this issue in March," he said.

The FAS opened a case against computer and software suppliers participating tenders for the Federal Tax Service, Federal Customs Service and Pension Fund on January 27.

The same companies that bid at tenders for the Central Elections Commission's Federal Informatization Center (FIC) were suspected of violations.

Last November, a case was opened against computer suppliers LLC Business Computers Group, LLC AMI-NETWORK, CJSC KROK Incorporated, LLC SuperwaveGroup, Kraftway Corporation PLS and LLC Akvarius Production Company, which sold products to FIC. That case is scheduled to be examined on March 20.

The FAS suspects that Lenovo and Hewlett-Packard (HP) were behind the actions of these companies at the tenders.

"They coordinated the activities of participants in the tenders, determined who should make what bids and win tenders. This is one theory that is being examined", Tenishev said earlier.
