Map of Syria with accurate locations of Syrian opposition respecting ceasefire, bandits to be completed within days - Shoigu
MOSCOW. Feb 21 (Interfax) - The work to draw a map to show places where the Syrian sound opposition forces and terrorists are located will be finalized soon, Russian Defense Minister Gen. of the Army Sergei Shoigu said.
"I suppose, in a few days, we'll have a definitive and an absolutely accurate map to show whereabouts of the opposition, the one that has joined the ceasefire, and where the bandits are," Shoigu said at the 2nd All-Russian youth forum titled 'International Military-Political and Military-Economical Cooperation: Modern Trends" in the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO University) when asked by students about the Russia-Turkey cooperation.
The cooperation between the two countries in Syria can serve as a good example, he said.
"We are in permanent contact today. Firstly, in order to prevent our [air] forces from facing each other in the air and secondly, we have done tremendous work on the ground to liberate eastern Aleppo," Shoigu said.
He went on to recall that in order to avoid fatalities during the liberation of Aleppo, about 40,000 people were evacuated and sent towards Idlib. "And that was, of course, done with help from Turkey," Shoigu concluded.
