OSCE officials don't attend inspection, demining of Donetsk filtration station - DPR

DONETSK. March 2 (Interfax) - Representatives of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) have not attended the demining of the Donetsk filtration station, the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) said.

"The inspection of the Donetsk filtration station for mine safety, which was scheduled to take place at 10:30 a.m., was rescheduled this morning because OSCE representatives could not come. Representatives of the DPR Armed Forces and the DPR Emergency Situations Ministry, the Joint Control and Coordination Center from the Russian side and the Donbas Water enterprise gathered for a meeting, to which representatives of the OSCE mission did not come. For that reason, the meeting was rescheduled to 2:00 p.m. today," the DPR Defense Ministry official said.

As of now, OSCE SMM representatives have not left to examine the territory of the Donetsk filtration station as reported by the Ukrainian side, the official said.

"This indicates a breach by the Ukrainian side of Item 3 of the document on anti-mine activities signed by the sides on March 3, 2016, which clearly provides the need for the presence of OSCE representatives," he said.
