New UVZ head Potapov to start job March 7

MOSCOW. March 7 (Interfax) - State corporation Rostec has dismissed Uralvagonzavod (UVZ) CEO Oleg Siyenko early and appointed former Industry and Trade Minister Alexander Potapov to replace him, UVZ said.

Rostec made the decision on Monday as the Russian tank and railcar manufacturer's sole shareholder.

"The instruction has been signed. Potapov will head Uralvagonzavod. We reckon that under Potapov's leadership the ambitious goals set for Uralvagonzavod will be realized," Rostec CEO Sergei Chemezov said on Thursday.

"[Potapov] is an experienced manager, deeply immersed in the specifics of the military-industrial complex, foreign economic activities and the structure of carrying out government defense contracts," Chemezov said.
