Iraq hopes positions of Russia, U.S. on counterterrorism will converge under new U.S. administration

MOSCOW. March 9 (Interfax) - Iraq hopes that Russia and the U.S. will be able to become closer on the issue of counterterrorism, Iraqi Ambassador to Russia Haidar Hadi said.

"A lot is now being said about new U.S. policies, we hope that the positions of Russia and the U.S. on the issue of counterterrorism will become closer, it may play a very important role in the fight against terrorism," he told reporters at a press conference.
