Ukrainian foreign minister tells what Kyiv seeks at UN int'l court
KYIV. March 13 (Interfax) - Ukraine seeks to prove at the United Nations International Court of Justice (ICJ) that Russia is pursuing a policy of racial discrimination in Crimea and sponsoring the central government's enemy in Donbas, Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin said.
"As to what is happening in The Hague... Our common goal is to prove that Russia is a sponsor of terrorism on the state level and that Russia - again, on the state level - is trying to advance deliberate racial discrimination on the occupied territory of Crimea. What is happening now [in Crimea] is effectively crossing out whoever disagrees with the occupation," Klimkin told journalists during a trip, together with Luxembourgish Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn, to the Donetsk region on Monday.
Repressions concern not just the Crimean Tatars and Ukrainians, but anyone who disagrees with the current state of affairs in Crimea, Klimkin said.
Russia is also supporting separatists in Donbas by supplying them with weapons and sending its troops there, the minister also said.
Ukraine is asking the ICJ to impose provisional measures with respect to Russia, Klimkin said.
