Luhansk resident taken to hospital ICU after hitting pull-action mine on beach
LUHANSK. March 24 (Interfax) - A Luhansk resident has hit a trip-wire mine in the Krasnyi Yar neighborhood in the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR), the LPR Interior Ministry told Interfax.
"An ambulance dispatcher notified the Zhovtnevyi district police department in the city of Luhansk on March 22 that a Luhansk resident born in 1958 hit a trip-wire mine on the beach in the Krasnyi Yar neighborhood," the ministry said in a report.
The man was taken to the intensive care unit of the Luhansk Republic's Clinical Hospital with a preliminary diagnosis of 'mine blast trauma and multiple shrapnel injuries to the head, torso and lower limbs', the report said.
An investigation has begun, the ministry said in conclusion.
