Russian servicemen deliver over 24 tonnes of humanitarian aid in Syria in past 24 hours
HMEIMIM. March 29 (Interfax) - The Russian center for reconciliation of opposing sides in Syria conducted seven humanitarian operations in the Aleppo province in the past 24 hours.
"Some 16.8 tonnes of food, 6 tonnes of bottled drinking water, and 500 food care packages were distributed amongst residents in the al-Furqan, al-Sahur and Sheikh Maqsood districts and the schools of Ukba Bin Nafi (in the Muhammad Bek district) and al-Finun Nasawiyah (in the Khalidiyah area) in the Aleppo city, in addition to a refugee camp in Membij (in the Aleppo province)," the center said in a bulletin seen by Interfax on Wednesday.
In all, humanitarian aid was supplied to 8,100 residents. It totaled 24.5 tonnes, the center said.
"The United Nations and its partners continued to provide medical, psychological and legal aid to Syria over the past day. In addition, infrastructures were being restored and temporary lodgings were being provided," the report said.
