154 bln tenge sea terminal to be operational in Kazakh port of Kuryk in 2025
AKTAU. April 3 (Interfax) - The Sarzha multifunctional sea terminal is to be launched in the port of Kuryk in Karakian district of Mangistau region in 2025, the regional industrial and innovative development department has told Interfax-Kazakhstan.
The project value is 154 billion tenge (313.73 tenge/$1) with Semurg Invest LLP running the project, according to the department.
The terminal is to accommodate a transport and logistics center, a warehouse for oil products warehouse and liquefied petroleum gas, a support base for offshore oil operations of TenizService LLP and a cargo handling center.
In addition, the project will have space for small and medium-sized businesses, a plant to produce steel products and oil and gas equipment and envisages building a shipyard and a base to produce caissons. BatysMunaiServis LLP plans to build a grain and bulk cargo sea transshipment complex, according to the department.

The port of Kuryk, covering an area of 40 hectares, handles goods shipped via the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TMTM).
