ASE, NPCIL sign final acceptance documents for first unit of Kudankulam NPP
MOSCOW. April 6 (Interfax) - Atomstroyexport (ASE) and the customer for the construction of the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant, the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd (NPCIL) signed the statement of final acceptance for the first generating unit of the plant on Wednesday, the Russian engineering company said.
By signing the document, the companies confirmed that all warranty conditions and obligations of the contractor, ASE, under the contract to build the first unit of the plant have been met.
"The warranty period of operation demonstrated the reliable and safe operation of the plant. Therefore, the Indian customer confirmed that the ASE Group, which is the general contractor, met all of the tasks set before it in full and to a high standard of quality. Future operation of the first generating unit is the full responsibility of the Indian side," ASE vice president for South Asia projects Andrei Lebedev was quoted as saying in the press release.
The second generating unit at Kudankulam NPP was put into warranty operation on March 31.
