Putin declares importance of Russia-India strategic partnership for int'l stability, security
MOSCOW. April 13 (Interfax) - Further strengthening of the strategic partnership between Russia and India bolsters international security and meets fundamental interests of people in the two countries, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
"I am confident that further strengthening of the privileged strategic partnership meets fundamental interests of people in Russia and India and goes in vein with the bolstering of international stability and security," Putin said on his congratulatory message to Indian President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russia and India.
Moscow and New Delhi maintain close positions on key global and regional affairs and efficiently coordinate their efforts at multinational organizations, such as the UN and BRICS, the message said.
"By acting together, our countries make a weighty contribution to the war on terrorism, extremism, transborder crime and other topical challenges," it said.
Russia and India have built a constructive political dialogue and are implementing large-scale projects in various economic and humanitarian spheres, the message said.
