Beijing calls for boosting bilateral strategic cooperation with Russia in 'new conditions'
MOSCOW. April 20 (Interfax) - Beijing is interested in closer cooperation with Moscow, China's National People's Congress Standing Committee Chairman Zhang Dejiang said at a meeting with State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin on Thursday.
"Amidst the new situation, enhancement of our strategic interaction is becoming more and more important and necessary," Zhang said.
The current situation in the world is very complicated and is changing very quickly, he said.
"As the largest neighbors, countries where the market is taking shape, as well as strategic partners, our countries have the broadest common interests in development and protection of peace and stability in the region and the whole world," the China's National People's Congress Standing Committee chairman said.
