Russian Defense Ministry puts out May 9 parade maps on its website
MOSCOW. April 22 (Interfax) - The Russian Defense Ministry posted on its website a full map of V-Day parades with detailed information about troop and vehicle numbers involved in the run-up to the 72nd anniversary of the victory in the 1941-1945 Great Patriotic War.
"With the help of our interactive application, Victory Parades' Map, visitors to our website can see in detail the marching plan, and the parading order and composition of military columns," the Russian Defense Ministry's department of information and mass communications said on Friday.
The application also contains similar plans and layouts for V-Day parades that will take place in 28 other Russian cities.
In all, over 90,000 troops will take part in military parades across the country, with the biggest of them taking place in Moscow's Red Square. It will involve over 10,000 troops, 118 combat vehicles, and 72 planes and helicopters that will fly in formation over the square.
For the first time, the interactive Victory Parades' Map-2017 allows users to download images of the Arctic variants of new Tor-M2DT surface-to-air missile (SAM) systems and Pantsir-SA combined SAM and artillery weapon systems without protective casing.
