OSCE car blast by Ukrainian military aimed at introducing int'l armed mission in Donbas - LPR

LUHANSK. April 23 (Interfax) - An OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) car explosion by Ukrainian saboteurs is a provocation that seeks to address the issue of introducing an armed international mission in Donbas, self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) representative in the Contact Group political subgroup Rodion Miroshnik said.

"The blast of an OSCE mission car is an unprecedented step by the Kyiv armed units, which cynically breaches the immunity of international monitors and infringes on the norms of international law. This provocation may quite likely prompt a new spiral of military confrontation, where there is already none of internationally recognized authoritative figures," the LuhanskInformCenter quoted Miroshnik as saying.

"This provocation is precisely in line with Kyiv's recent aspiration to introduce an armed international mission, which LPR and DPR representatives have definitely spoken against," he said.

"After this initiative failed to gain support at the negotiation table, Kyiv proceeded to provocations," the LPR representative said.

"Representatives of the people's republics have been long and consistently calling for settlement of the conflict in a direct dialogue between Kyiv and Donbas and inadmissibility of 'a third armed party to the conflict' to emerge," Miroshnik also said.
