No final agreement yet on meeting between Armenian, Azerbaijani, Russian foreign ministers in Moscow - Yerevan
YEREVAN. April 24 (Interfax) - Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian did not confirm a meeting between the foreign ministers of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan on Karabakh settlement in Moscow on April 27.
"There is common understanding that one needs to arrange such a meeting. When a final agreement is reached, when the timeframe will be updated, we will inform you about it," Nalbandian said on air of Armenian Public Television.
Armenia wants to continue negotiation process on Karabakh settlement, he said.
"Armenia has always been and remains a supporter of talks. As is known, this is Azerbaijan which constantly tries to move the discussion on Karabakh settlement to other platforms, seeking to avoid talks by refusal from meetings, which are organized in the coordinated format under the aegis of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs, putting blame on Armenia," he said.
In this case, Azerbaijan should explain why Baku refuses to implement the agreements reached, if Armenia allegedly refuses from meetings, he said.
"Azerbaijan always tries to refuse to implement even minimally coordinated steps, at the same time, demands maximum [results], sets forth maximalist demands. Everybody has an impression that Azerbaijan cannot hold talks," the Armenian foreign minister said.
He also said that despite all this Armenia believed that the talks have had no alternative.
