Kazakhstan carmaker Azia Avto to boost output 300% in 2017
ALMATY. May 3 (Interfax) - Azia Avto, a carmaker based in the East Kazakhstan region, plans to produce 12,000 vehicles in 2017 or an increase of 300% from a year earlier, First Deputy Minister for Investment and Development Alik Aidarbayev told Interfax-Kazakhstan.
In 2016, the company produced 2,962 vehicles.
In January-March 2017, Azia Avto assembled 2,623 vehicles totaling 9.694 billion tenge in value (315.22/$1).
JSC Azia Avto, organized in 2002, is Kazakhstan's largest carmaker. The company's partners are Volkswagen Group, General Motors, Renault-Nissan, AvtoVAZ and KIA Motors.
