Russian electricity exports decline 0.68% to 3.85bln kWh in Q1 - Customs
MOSCOW. May 10 (Interfax) - Russia exported 3.851 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity in January-March 2017, this is 0.68% less than in the same period last year, the Federal Customs Service (FCS) said.
In value terms, exports fell 5.57% to $125.5 million.
Russia exported 3.427 billion kWh to non-CIS countries, up 0.584% year-on-year. The value of exports fell 6.4% to $108.2 million.
Electricity exports to CIS countries fell 9.8% to 424.2 million kWh. In value terms, they rose 0.58% to $17.4 million.
Russia increased imports 2.7-fold to 1.149 billion kWh at a cost of $19.9 million. Imports from non-CIS countries totaled 43 million kWh, worth $0.4 million and the rest from CIS countries - 1.106 billion kWh worth $19.5 million.
The operator of the import and export of electricity is Inter RAO . The company earlier reported that imports from Kazakhstan have increased 3-fold in Q1 to 1.07 billion kWh.
