Almost all forest fires extinguished in Russia's Transbaikal territory
CHITA. May 12 (Interfax) - One forest fire covering an area of 200 hectares in the Mogocha district in Russia's Transbaikal territory was recorded as of 8:00 a.m. local time on Friday, the press service of the regional Natural Resources Ministry said.
"The fire has been contained. Thirty-nine people are working to extinguish it," the press service said.
Seven forest fires burning on an area of around 1,100 hectares have been extinguished in the Nerchinsko-Zavodsky, Mogoitui, Nerchinsk, Sretensk, Tungokochensky and Chernyshevsk districts over the past 24 hours, it said.
A wildfire emergency has been in place in the Transbaikal territory.
