Navalny's campaign headquarters opens in Khabarovsk
KHABAROVSK. May 13 (Interfax) - Alexei Navalny's campaign headquarters opened in Khabarovsk on Saturday, becoming the opposition activist's first campaign office in the Far East and 28th one overall in RUssia.
"We have already registered 430,000 future signers countrywide, and an immense workload in turning those promised signatures into the actual ones is ahead. The regional campaign headquarters, including the Khabarovsk one, will deal with that," Leonid Volkov, Navalny's senior campaign manager, told reporters at a press conference following the headquarters' opening.
At present, 3,000 signers are recorded in Khabarovsk, a total of 6,000 of them are expected, he said.
"There are about 700 persons among our volunteers in Khabarovsk, approximately 200 of them attended the opening of the headquarters, the objectives of which include coordinating them and providing with legal assistance and campaign materials," Volkov said.
Alexei Vorsin was appointed the chief of the Khabarovsk headquarters, Volkov said.
In addition to Khabarovsk, the Far East headquarters are planned to be opened in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Vladivostok, Blagoveshchensk, and Yakutsk, he said.
