MOSCOW. May 17 (Interfax) - Experts from the Saudi Food and Drug Authority began an audit on Wednesday of Russian companies interested in exporting meat to Saudi Arabia.

They are inspecting Russian producers of beef, lamb, poultry meat and prepared meat products for compliance with Saudi requirements, the press secretary for Russian plant and animal health watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor, Yulia Melano told Interfax.

"Six enterprises in five regions will be inspected: in Moscow, Kaliningrad, Penza and Bryansk regions, as well as in Stavropol Territory," she said.

The inspections will continue until May 23, inclusive.

Rosselkhoznadzor and the SFDA reached an agreement on conducting the inspections in telephone negotiations at the beginning of May.
