Islamic countries can resolve all of their disagreements peacefully - Aliyev

BAKU. June 13 (Interfax) - Islamic countries may resolve any problems in their relations peacefully, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said.

"Azerbaijan is making a contribution to the strengthening of Islamic solidarity. The year 2017 has been declared 'The Year of Islamic Solidarity' in Azerbaijan, which is a demonstration of our policy and our aspirations. I am sure that we should resolve any problems that emerge between Islamic countries in a peaceful manner, in addition to bolstering solidarity," Aliyev said at a meeting with the heads and employees of diplomatic missions of Islamic countries held on the Ramadan occasion in Baku on Tuesday.

As reported earlier, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain severed diplomatic relations with Qatar on June 5 and accused the Qatari authorities of backing terrorist organizations. Some other Islamic countries later joined them.
