Auchan starts supply of store brand kitchenware from Russia to all stores
MOSCOW. June 16 (Interfax) - The Russian division of France's Auchan Retail will export kitchenware goods that are made in Russia under the Auchan store brand.
The first delivery to all Auchan Retail stores in Europe and Asia will be carried out in August, the Russian company said. The store brand is produced at the retailer's order by the Topaz group of companies in the Krasnodar Territory. Auchan will send around 30 types of kitchen utensils to its stores including wooden chopping boards, wooden spatulas, meat hammers, spoons, rolling pins, mashers and pancake turners.
"Topaz was one of the first Russian companies to sign a supply agreement with Auchan International. The closing contract like this is part of our strategy to enter onto the international market in the next five years," the group's head Roman Romanchenko was cited as saying in the statement.
The Russian division of Auchan had earlier started exports of confectionary goods to Italy. Since November of last year 15 types of store brand candies and sweets from five Russian manufacturers were on sale in 66 Auchan hypermarkets, Simply and Ipersimply supermarkets, which belong to Auchan, in 60 Italian cities.
