Karabakh negotiations 'with good intentions' may have positive outcome - Azerbaijani foreign minister
BAKU. June 20 (Interfax) - Azerbaijan supports the appeal of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs for continuing substantive negotiations on a settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said.
"Negotiations held with good intentions may have a positive outcome. Hence, we support the appeal of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs for continuing substantive negotiations based on good intentions and political will. Azerbaijan has repeatedly reiterated its readiness for substantive negotiations on a settlement of this conflict," Mammadyarov told the Azerbaijani agency Trend in an interview.
A broad exchange of opinions on ways to boost the negotiating process took place during the visit of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs to Azerbaijan, he said.
"It's high time to take serious steps towards settling this conflict. The status-quo based on occupation has to change. Therefore, Armenia should stop telling lies and making various sorts of excuses and take part in the negotiations with good intentions and political will," he said.
