Strategic Lukoil shareholders not planning to lower stakes in company - Alekperov

MOSCOW. June 21 (Interfax) - Lukoil's strategic shareholders are not planning to lower their stakes in the company, Lukoil CEO and one of the company's main shareholders, Vagit Alekperov, told journalists.

"Today Lukoil shares are the most liquid instrument which is in demand from both brokerage firms and clients. We are not currently lowering the stake which belongs to strategic investors and shareholders, it is stable," he said.

Controlling stakes in the company are concentrated with top management. Lukoil's main shareholders are the company's president, Vagit Alekperov, as well as Vice President Leonid Fedun. Alekperov owns a 22.96% stake in the company while Fedun holds 9.78%, according to company data.
