LPR ready to honor 'bread truce'
LUHANSK. June 22 (Interfax) - The self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) militia is ready to implement a Donbas ceasefire starting on June 24 and hopes that Ukraine will not be using the 'bread truce' for beefing up its forces stationed on the contact line, LPR militia spokesman Andrei Marochko said.
"It is important that the new period of truce lasts as long as possible and that the Ukrainian side does not use this break for staging new provocations, sending sabotage-and-reconnaissance groups to our territory, and beefing up its military potential along the contact line," Marochko said.
The LPR militia adheres to the Minsk Agreements and is ready to honor the 'bread truce' scheduled by members of the Trilateral Contact Group for Donbas to begin on June 24, he said.
As reported, an agreement to impose a 'bread truce' in Donbas for the period of grain harvesting campaign, from June 24 till August 31, was reached at the Wednesday meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group in Minsk.
