CIS interior ministers endorse document on opposing recruitment to terrorist organizations
ASTANA. June 28 (Interfax) - The interior ministers of the CIS countries discussed measures to oppose the recruitment of citizens to terrorist and extremist organizations at a meeting in Dushanbe, the Kazakh Interior Ministry reported.
"The participants endorsed and approved a concept of development of cooperation between the Interior Ministries (police forces) of the CIS countries in opposing the recruitment of citizens to terrorist and extremist organizations and an inter-state program of joint measures in combating crime for the 2019-2023 period," the ministry said on Wednesday.
The heads of the delegations discussed prospects of interaction in opposing new challenges and threats to the security of the CIS countries and the implementation of inter-state programs against crime.
The participants decided to compose a list of terrorist and extremist organizations whose activities in CIS countries would be banned and to post information on national lists of illicit narcotic drugs, new types of psychoactive substances, and synthetic drugs on the website of the CIS bureau for coordination of the fight against organized crime and other dangerous types of crimes.
In addition, the participants considered aspects of cooperation in enforcing public security and countering unlawful actions by members of informal association of sports fans during international sports and other mass events.
