Kazakhstan to continue strengthening strategic partnership with U.S., EU - Nazarbayev
ASTANA. July 3 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan will continue strengthening strategic partnership with the United States and the European Union, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
"We will continue strengthening strategic partnership with the U.S. and the new White House administration," Nazarbayev said on Monday during a meeting with the heads of the diplomatic missions accredited in Kazakhstan.
"Additionally, we will continue working on developing our multilateral relations with the EU, our large trade-economic and investment partner," he said.
Traditional cooperation will also continue with the countries of the post-Soviet space and Central Asia, Nazarbayev said.
"Central Asia is now experiencing a new stage of its development. Our policies here, like before, were aimed at equal partnership, unification of the efforts of our countries to increase the role of the region in international affairs and ensuring prosperity in the 'five' countries. We will give close attention to working together with the countries of Central Asia, our neighbors, taking into account our common historical, cultural and language origin," Nazarbayev said.
"We attach a lot of importance to the strengthening of our comprehensive cooperation with Turkey, which is based on common historical origin and the cultural values of our two peoples," Nazarbayev said.
