Russian govt approves strategy to develop agricultural machine building to 2030
MOSCOW. July 6 (Interfax) - Russia's government approved a strategy to develop agriculture machine building to 2030 at a meeting on Thursday.
The draft was prepared earlier by Russia's Industry and Trade Ministry.
During the meeting Russian Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov said that the strategy called for boosting the share of domestically-produced agricultural technology on the Russian market to 80% by 2021, up from 54% in 2016. This would be possible "given that mechanisms of stimulating demand are maintained, but also given a gradual reduction in support," he said.
The strategy also set forth the task for Russian agriculture machine builders to increase exports to 50% of demand on the domestic market. This would allow production capacity to operate at up to 80%-90%. According to the authors of the strategy, priority markets for Russian-produced agriculture technology outside of the CIS would include the European Union, South Africa, Australia, China and North America.
