Plans for joint business might be made after Japanese entrepreneurs' visit to Sakhalin

TOKYO. July 7 (Interfax) - Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov said he expects the development of joint Russian-Japanese business projects in the near future.

"A group of Japanese businessmen visited Sakhalin Region. As we note, the visit was quite successful, the Japanese entrepreneurs left in high spirits. We already expect that as a result of this visit there will be concrete plans for the development of joint business," Shuvalov said on Friday at a meeting with Japanese Economy, Trade & Industry Minister Hiroshige Seko.

During his business visit to Tokyo, Shuvalov also discussed preparations for an upcoming meeting between President Vladimir Putin's and Prime Minister Shinzo Abe with Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida.
