New DIA Board of Directors members from Central Bank could include Shvetsov, Polyakova, Chistyukhin
MOSCOW. July 11 (Interfax) - The Russian Central Bank's Board of Directors has approved its candidates to join the Deposit Insurance Agency's (DIA) Board of Directors, according to Central Bank materials.
The individuals include Central Bank First Deputy Governor Sergei Shvetsov, Deputy Central Bank Chairmen Olga Polyakova and Vladimir Chistyukhin.
The Central Bank's Board of Directors also approved the candidates who are currently members of the DIA's Board of Directors, including Central Bank First Deputy Chairman Dmitry Tulin, Deputy Chairman Vasily Pozdyshev, and Central Bank Chairman Advisor Sergei Ignatyev.
DIA's Board of Directors also currently includes Central Bank Governor Elvira Nabiullina. She was not included in the list of candidates approved by the Central Bank's Board of Directors, since she is included in the DIA Board of Directors in accordance with the position she holds.
On July 31, amendments will come into affect that virtually grant the Central Bank control over the DIA: the number of representatives from the Central Bank will increase from five to seven while the number of government representatives will decrease to five.
Under the amendments, the head of the Central Bank will become the DIA Board of Directors.
Since its creation in 2004, the DIA board of directors has been chaired by Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin and Anton Siluanov after him.
