Luhansk says to mull extra measures to control Ukrainians' entry in LPR, if Kyiv restricts Russians' travelling to Ukraine

MOSCOW. July 11 (Interfax) - Luhansk doubts that Kyiv will devise a new registration mechanism for Russians wishing to visit Ukraine, and does not plan to restrict Ukrainian citizens' travelling to their republic.

"There are major doubts that Kyiv will really impose such a measure in 2018, because apparently in the event of appropriate response from the Russian side Ukrainian labor migrants will be deprived of their salary. Therefore, we are not engaged in populism, unlike our Ukrainian colleagues, and announce no limitations on Ukrainian citizens," special envoy of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) Vladislav Deinego told Interfax.

However, if Kyiv really imposes restrictions on Russian citizens' entry in Ukraine, Luhansk stands ready to ponder extra measures of controlling Ukrainians' entry in the republic.

"We do not limit entry at our crossing points now; we are just keeping a record of them. However, if Ukraine imposes additional restrictions, we will think over what extra measures can be undertaken," he said.
