Shoigu holding operational training meeting of Russian Armed Forces commanders
MOSCOW. July 18 (Interfax-AVN) - Participants in an operational training meeting of Russian Armed Forces commanders, which began on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Russian Defense Minister Gen. of the Army Sergei Shoigu, will discuss tendencies of the development of the military and political situation in the world.
"Over the next three days, the participants will discuss a wide range of issues dealing with tendencies of the development of the military-political situation and ways to ensure the state's military security," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a report.
The agenda for the event also includes issues concerning the specifics of the Russian Armed Forces' combat training sessions and their organization and the functioning of personnel at command points.
These training meetings will be held in the General Staff's Military Academy and also at training ranges of the country's Western and Southern Military Districts. They will conclude on July 21.
"Upon completion of the training meetings, roundtables will be held. Their participants will discuss approaches to the development of the practice of modern-day battle and ways to guide it," the Defense Ministry said.
These events are being attended by commanders from the main command centers of the Russian Armed Forces' branches, service arm commanders, commanders from military districts and the Northern Fleet, senior officers from the central military command bodies, and also unit staff commanders and chiefs.
