Dutch investor, Enel Russia to build windfarm in Arctic
MURMANSK. July 18 (Interfax) - LLC Windlife Kola Vetro LL1, the subsidiary of Netherlands-based Windlife Energy B.V. and Enel Russia will cooperate to build a windfarm of 200 mWh in Murmansk Region.
"We have signed a preliminary contract with the company Enel," Windlife Kola Vetro LL1 CEO Paul Logchies said during a meeting with Murmansk Region Deputy Governor Yevgeny Nikora in Murmansk on Tuesday.
Enel Russia Board of Directors Chairman Stefan Zvegintsov who took part in the meeting confirmed the cooperation between the two companies. "Right now only a small job remains and that is to implement the project," he said.
Enel Russia was not ready to disclose the details of how they would cooperate.
As reported earlier, Enel Russia took part in a Russian government tender on the construction of renewable energy generating facilities for the first time and will build 291.06 MW of wind capacity, including 90.09 MW at the Azov-5 wind farm in Rostov region and 200.97 MW in Murmansk region. The facilities must be commissioned by December 1, 2020 and December 1, 2021 respectively. Construction of the facilities will cost about 405 million euro the company said in a press release.
Enel Russia plans to use Siemens Games equipment at its wind power farms. Production of the equipment will be localized in Russia.
Windlife Energy B.V. plans to invest 222 billion rubles to create the wind farm of 200 mWh in Murmansk Region.
