DPR says serviceman killed, 3 civilians wounded in Ukrainian army attacks

DONETSK. July 20 (Interfax) - One serviceman was killed and three civilians were wounded as a result of attacks mounted by the Ukrainian armed forces, Eduard Basurin of the Defense Ministry of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic told reporters.

"One serviceman was killed while defending the republic. Three civilians were wounded in an attack launched by the Ukrainian armed forces on the Petrovskyi district in the city of Donetsk," Basurin said at a press briefing on Thursday.

Seven houses in Donetsk and a shop in Dokuchayevsk have been destroyed as a result of the Ukrainian army's attacks in the past 24 hours, he said.

"Our reconnaissance has recorded the amassing and deployment of banned weapons along the entire contact line. In particular, the arrival of eight tanks was observed near the populated locality of Krasna Hora. The arrival of five tanks was recorded near Krasnohorivka," he said.

The Ukrainian Defense Ministry said earlier that, according to preliminary reports, nine Ukrainian armed forces servicemen had been killed and another five had been wounded and injured in the conflict zone in Donbas in the past 24 hours.
